Mothers donate their surplus breast milk.
|
Members of the pasteurization team wear a mask, hat, apron, scrub
for three minutes and use gloves.

Individual mothers’ milk is poured into flasks.
|
Milk is pooled. Each pool consists of milk from three to ten
different mothers

Milk is poured into three ounce bottles.
|
The bottles are pasteurized. Lab tests are done to ensure that
there is no bacteria in the pasteurized milk.

The Pasteurized milk is quick cooled and then frozen. Donor
milk is kept at -20C until dispensed
|
Milk is taken to the hospital for use when prescribed by a physician.
